The principles that govern physical fitness apply to mental robustness as well. This idea is at the heart of The4Ways performance programmes which use the four physical fitness elements of Strength, Stamina, Flexibility and Balance as a template for developing mental performance.
In his book Coaching for Performance, author John Whitmore estimates that most of us are working at less than 50% of our potential. Part of the problem is the separation of the ‘work person’ from the whole person. What we bring to our career, whatever that may be, is our whole self, not just our work self.
The4Ways performance programmes have been developed from 20 years of Andrew Flack’s psychological work with groups and individuals. With extensive experience as a Sports Psychologist, EMDR Therapist and accredited Psychotherapist, Andrew has sculpted a performance programme that blends psychotherapeutic practice with psychological fitness principles that take account of the whole person within their work or performance environment.
